Game Den

What a glorious event.  Eighteen delightful MTG players dueled like rutting elk for top honors at Game Den’s Wednesday night Standard MTG tournament.  In a five round event, nobody ended up undefeated.  Antoine Harris, Jordan Paxton and Jeff McHenry all finished 4-1 and took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively.  Antoine was unable to draw land to power his fast Goblin deck and lost to Jeff’s Jund deck in round 5, but Antoine won the tiebreaker battle and took top honors.

Fifteen lovely MTG players battled like beauty queens in a Miss WVC Pageant  at Game Den’s MTG Standard tournament on February 17, 2010.  In the championship match,  Jordan Paxton playing Jund defeated Josh Snow and his Turbo Fog deck 2-0.   Jordan had one card left in his library when he won game two.  A key Maelstrom Pulse destroying three Howling Mines helped JP’s victory in game two.

Game Den WVC had 30 players for FNM on Feb 12th.  And there was much rejoicing. Each participant chose to draft either Block, two Zendikar and one Worldwake, or all Worldwake, and four pods were formed with 8-8-8-6 players accordingly. Many splendid cards worth dollars were opened.
