Yu-gi-oh Tournament 7-27-10
This is a trial run. If abundant positive posts and/or feedback about this report are not received, it is unlikely my lazy self will do this after every yu-gi-oh tournament. It was the night before Wednesday, i.e. it was Tuesday night. Yu-gi-oh players numbering 18 blessed Game Den in WVC by appearing for this tournament. Player and deck: Gerald S(Dark Gaia), Leo N (Lightsworn), Victor N (Samurais), Aaron B (Infernity), Kyle B (Greed), Doug S (Blackwings), Enoch S (Gladiator Beasts), Steve N (XX-Sabers), Travis W (Lightsworn), Arman F (Blackwings), Jacky H (XX-Sabers), Randy C (Lightsworn), Shaun S-G (Junk), Taylor B (Frog FTK), Anthony E (Frog FTK), JJ K (Gladiator Beasts), Fred G (Machina Gadget), Jordan V (Zero Zombies aka zz). Leo N told me to write that he is a great duelist. Victor N told me to write that he is an average duelist. Anthony E and Enoch S usually dominate these tournaments. Tonight was no exception... ROUND ONE Jacky H won Aaron B Doug S won Gerald S Randy C won JJ K Fred G won Shaun S Enoch S won Travis W Steve N won Jordan V Taylor B won Victor N Arman F won Kyle B Due to a enrollment snafu following the receipt of faulty information, two players had byes: Leo N and Anthony E Round Two Jordan V won Gerald S Anthony E won Fred G Travis W won Kyle B Arman F won Steve N Taylor B won Jacky H Enoch S won Leo N JJ K won Aaron B Victor N won Shaun S Doug S won Randy C ROUND THREE Enoch S won Taylor B Arman F won D Sharma (both players semi-attempted to sort of cheat, but neither really did) Victor N won Travis W Gerald S won Kyle B Anthony E won Steve N Jacky H won Fred G JJ K won Jordan V Leo N won Randy C Aaron B won Shaun S ROUND FOUR Shaun S won Kyle B Gerald S won Aaron B Jacky H won Doug S Anthony E won Taylor B Enoch S won Arman F Gerald S won Aaron B Travis W won Jordan V Leo N won JJ K Randy C won Fred G ROUND FIVE Enoch S won Anthony E in the championship match Leo N won Steve N Victor N won Fred G Travis W won Gerald S Jacky H won Arman F FINAL STANDINGS 1st Enoch S 2nd Anthony E 3rd Leo N 4th Jacky H 5th Arman F After the tournament a kitty frenzy the likes of which were heretofore unforeseen in these parts ensued. Only one kitty was captured to the chagrin of many. Several were seen weeping like a school girl at recess who falls and skins her knee. The first person to post a response to this post will receive a free entry into this Saturday's yu-gi-oh tournament.

Standard MTG Tournament 6-21-2010
Like throbbing stars in distant galaxies yearning to become super novas they waited--waited to be paired. The tension was thick, like blubber on a super fat walrus. Their desire was unsurpassed by any seen in these parts for decades. Finally in the 4th round they played each other. Like two slimy earthworms reproducing on the sidewalk they met and engaged in a mtg frenzy. That was for my own amusement. Otherwise it was a relatively normal and uneventful MTG tournament. A delicious turnout of 24 made it expedient to play 5 rounds. Adam Westwood, Game Den employee and MTG player extraordinaire of late (he suffered many ignominious defeats a while ago) defeated Eric Twarog in round 5 to win the tournament as the only undefeated player. Unlike tournaments of months past, only one player used a "Jund" deck. Top 5 1st Adam Westwood-Bant 2nd John Buchanon-Red Deck Wins 3rd John Dalton-Blue/White control 4th Matt Kling-Blue/White 5th Eric Twarog-Blue/White Control Other players in random order Anthony Bentle-Jund Paul Beanan-Black/White Connor Hooper-Green/White Brennan Parsons-Black/Red Ryan Larsen-Red/Green Ascension Jeff McHenry-Blue/White Haley Davis-Beastmaster's Ascension Matt Kling-Blue/White David Waterbury (who?)- Black/Red Unrelenting Isaac Smith Black Red Insanity Adam Mejia Green/Black/Red John Dalton-Blue/White Control Eric Caldwell-Red Holland Bosarge-Blue/White mill Caroline Harrison-Blue/White David Harrison Red/White/Green Allies David Nevarez-Tarzan Ron Kilby-Red Deck Wins Rick Hendricks-Green Bryan Hawley-Mythic Spencer Howland-Red/Black burn Thank you to all participants.
